When your adult son starts talking about "kids these days," as he gets closer to 30.
When you realize your parents only lived 8 or 9 years longer than the age you are now.

Now, every time a famous person dies, our any person really, I find myself calculating how close I am. I used to think, "shite, I'm more than half way there" but at least I could tell myself I probably had more adult years left than I'd already lived.
Now, even the adult years post isn't exactly a given. I've lived 29 adult years if you count from 18. 29 from now would be 76.
