don't think Miles is really on the hot seat but he has a pretty icy relationship with Alleva and it definitely played into all the Chavis stuff

It would take two very poor seasons in a row, and I mean losing season four, for the man to get fired. However, I do think that he is on retirement watch and that this is known within the athletic department. This might explain why Alleva was willing to give Chavis a two year guarantee, but not four. Considering what happened at South Carolina after Steve Spurrier's comments, you can understand why the athletic department would want to keep that under wraps.

This is just conjecture on my part, though. It is also likely that Miles is on a short leash, and that Chavis knew it.
