On 98.1, Gordy Rush just said that the field is terrible. This makes about three or four bowl games on crap fields in the last 5 or 6 years. The Penn State, Iowa games come to mind

It rained last year in Tampa. What in the hell is the grounds crew supposed to do to prevent the filed from being torn up? (especially after it had been used for a full NFL and college season). This seems to be the same issue there in Nashville.

The only truly horrible field was the Penn St. game where the Citrus Bowl attempted to put in new turf for the game only to be hit with below avg temperatures leading up to the game and heavy rain on game day. Outside of that LSU has played in domes.

Both teams have to play on the same field and LSU has a "Big 10" offense according to everyone here. So what's the problem?

They played high school championships and another bowl the week prior to our game. Some player blew his knee out badly in the other bowl game. Poor weather wasn't solely to blame for the problems. Overutilization of the stadium and poor planning (with NO contingencies) is what caused that cluster.

They have since made improvements to the field. Hopefully they've also made improvements to the stadium, surrounding area, and shuttle bus fiasco. I've been to nearly 20 bowl games and that one was (by far) the worst managed ever!
