Biggest deer for me too date was grunted/snort wheezed in. I hit it sporadically throughout morning hunts, not so much in the evenings on food plots. As far as laying off the snort wheeze in fear of scaring off smaller bucks, that's not necessarily a bad thing IMO. Kinda like the old addage about catching big fish with big bait. But my opinion sucks. I haven't taken a truly big deer in some time now. So tifwiw.

I saw him from the ridge over he was a young basket 8. Trailing a doe step for step. When I hit the snort/wheeze he locked up, feet buried in and looked around. Hit the call again and he bolted like a freshman at a senior party.

Kinda felt like an a-hole for cock blocking the little buck.
