I found a grunt call on the ground once on the way to my stand. I put it in my pocket and got settled and blew it a time or two. This was in late December in SW, Ms. after the second grunt a huge buck came in trotting and attempting to get down wind of me. I piled his arse at about 25 yds. He weighed about 230#. I have tried it several times since with no success, but I have to believe he was coming to the grunt. Now I never leave home without my grunt call.
