Amazing how quickly these properties went to hell

Well, it's not like the best locations were picked for the before pictures. I'm pretty sure I could go to NBR and do the exact same thing, and say it's a representation of BR as a whole.
Not that I'm saying Detroit isn't a shite city

I thought Detroit went to shite long before 2009.

So, who needs wind and rain.

So the homes get raised for materials when left to rot..... Sad and this may expand to many other places as well.

I bet there is a common denominator, but I just can't put my finger on it right now.

If there's so much doom and gloom and bankruptcy, how does Detroit sustain 4 professional sport franchises?

I always though detroit was shite and then I saw a video form like a blimp flying over the city before some sporting event, I think NFL, and was like woah, that downtown looks gorgeous.
So, I dont really listen to this stuff anymore. Sounds like the trashy areas just went to shite.

Now, as for centuries, tourists behold those ruins with awe and wonder. Yet today, a vast and history laden ruin site passes unnoticed, even despised, into oblivion.
Come, travel with me, as I guide you on a tour through the fabulous and vanishing ruins of my beloved Detroit.

Take a Look Inside Detroit's Secretive Masonic Temple
quote:
Stained by a century of Detroit soot and weather, the building's limestone exterior is almost comically foreboding.
Legends surround the Temple's interior, which is said to contain a labyrinth of rooms, some connected by secret passageways. It's also full of dramatic, unused spaces—the most famous being an unfinished swimming pool on the sixth floor. Unfortunately, most of the building is off-limits to the public. But with rumors of renovation and a possible loft conversion floating around, we snapped some photos during a recent tour from Preservation Detroit.

Really nice and wealthy suburbs. The metro area is in very good shape. The core city was destroyed by white flight, loss of factory jobs in the city, poorly run city government, unions, pensions......
