That was the gripe. The guy was pretty electric at times but it seemed like they could never get creative to get him the ball in space.

They did that. Using diff formations and plays. How many times did Shep run the jet sweep, The wr bubble, and direct hand offs. What made Shep great in hs was him being shifty and his speed. Compared to other SEC athletes,Shep wasnt faster or more agile than everyone. Once he switched to wr people realized he couldn't get separation and his route running was atrocious. Leaning in a lot of his breaks and his hands were average at best. All those were expected considering he had never played wr, but it seems he never progressed and there were more talented wrs so he was passed on the depth chart.
Im glad he has/is pursuing his dream though.
