Russell Shepard is in the NFL because of CLM

He never would have made it to the Pros as a QB but boy were the haters out in full force when CLM chose to use him as a WR/Ath.
Remember the whole "there is no such thing as a flop" speech that was a response to a reporter insinuating that Shepard...a highly rated QB coming out of high school...was a flop at LSU bc he wasnt used as a QB.
Looking at how Shepard is doing with Tampa Bay as a receiver and on special teams, its obvious that Miles and staff made the right call, made the best use of his abilities, and put him in the best position to land on an NFL roster. Something he probably would not have done had he continued as a dual threat quarterback
So, in hindsight, can folks admit that CLM made the right call with Shepard? There were probably times when Russell himself was disappointed that it didn't work out for him as a QB at LSU. However, looking back on it, it seems to have been the best thing that could've happened for him.

Can't disagree with that. LSU is the NFL factory

Chip Kelly cut him. Enough said.

Drastically underutilized by CLM. Glad he salvaged his career.

Actually it was because he wasn't used, period. But you keep making things up in that creative little mind of yours.

Les made him into an NFL WR

I've officially seen it all now.

I don't remember anyone being upset that Shepard wasn't playing QB, since everyone was pretty convinced that he was no quarterback. For me, I was just mystified that they could never seem to find a way to get him involved more. There were lots of games where he never seven saw the field, but he has NFL talent that was pretty much wasted at LSU.

Don't bet on it. I'm more inclined to believe the pumpers are capable of infinite entertainment

That one is going to be tough to top. But you are right.

Yeah, because these players all get to the nfl without coaches in college.
It's just "pumper" thought when you credit their coaches.
The frick is wrong with some of you?

I've seen a few of them attempt to justify 1/9/12 by saying they would rather win a conference championship than a national championship.
At this point, quite literally nothing surprises me

Honest question, you think that if the coaches don't switch him to receiver, he would be in the nfl today? I think that would be a very very slim chance.
Lsu did him a favor.

I agree. I'm no longer surprised that the same usual suspects enjoy shitting on the program on a daily basis and see zero positive in the team they claim to support.

I think he would've caught on somewhere regardless of position if you want my honest opinion.

Oh right, because small, athletic college QBs have never made the successful transition to another position in the nfl before. Like in the history of ever.
