I would be extremely upset if I was a Husker fan. Does Barney Cotton know what a field goal is? His team lost by 3--they had fourth downs twice in the last quarter where a field goal could have been attempted. If Brown is anywhere near the kicker his older brother is, he could have made at least one of the two, maybe both. So at worst, the game should have gone into overtime. Mike Riley's first coach to send packing should be Barney Cotton, who should never ever have a chance to be a Division I head coach again. He did not give his team a chance to win the game by failing twice to attempt field goals---sure he knows what a field goal is?

You pretty much summed up exactly how I felt about this game in one post. LOL.

When they made the announcement that Barney Cotton was gonna be the interim HC for the Huskers after they had fired Bo Pelini, I thought it was joke. I would never in a million years take Cotton as a HC on my football team. He is an OK assistant, but an abslulty putrid HC. Next season I think he is headed out to UNLV to be their OC. I guess that makes them suckers.

This game was the epitome of why Pelini and staff were fired this year.

Nebraska has some talent on both sides of the ball but are very poorly coached.

They have 3rd and 3 deep in USC territory and don't give it to one of the best backs in the nation.

The Read and React defense is horrible and depends way too much on the D-Line getting penetration. Sever lack of blitzing gives the QB way too much time. Papuchis is simply in way over his head being a DC at a P5 school.

Horrible, horrible coaching on both sides of the ball. Can't wait to see Riley take over. Nebraska has the pieces to make a run for the BIG title next year with the right coaching. I think Riley is head and shoulders better than Pelini
