NYPD is the department just about every other large department looks to for ideas, training and tactics. They are the ones on the cutting edge of Law Enforcement. NYPD has some very bright minds that have advanced LE for the whole country.

God forbid a city leader hold his subordinates accountable for their trend of shitty, illegal behavior, instead of just holding benevolent to their union contributions6.
How dare the mayor have an accurate moral conscience! The nerve! Just blindly support police and their unions like all your predecessors. Don't you know that's what will get you re-elected?
frick the NYPD and their blind loyalty to the shield! Hold your own accountable and you may find yourself getting more respect from the general public. Until then, you deserve the scorn you get, and the mayor is right for not blindly supporting your TREND of criminal behavior.
