For the record, there are several black children in Ralphie's class.
The soap poisoning scene would probably be protested for the parents being so grief stricken about there son having no prospects in life because of his blindness.

Seriously, I really don't think you'd find many problems releasing this movie today. If it's a period piece, it doesn't matter.
