This is probably a dumb question, but do they make wireless earbud's for the TV? It's not very comfortably to wear these over the ear headphones while laying in bed.

These are decent:

Like the Telme2, there's no lag, but there is some low-level background RF noise that the Telme2 does not exhibit.
There is also IR-based line-of-sight "TV Ears" type stuff, but I never tried them after reading so many complaints about their reliability.
(I don't actually use any of this myself, but I have set some old folks up with the Telme2 and Sennheisers. I thought they were decent, and I've had no complaints.)
