Kingwood highschool has a varsity team, two JV teams, two freshman teams.

For football the big schools in Texas will have two or three freshman teams, a sophomore team and a jv. 10th and 11th graders aren't automatically on varsity like in Louisiana. Tryouts in all other sports. I know of a few of the affluent high schools here in dfw will have 125-150 kids tryout for freshman baseball. The best part of it is all coaches are in the classroom. You get some great coaching in Texas because we can make a comfortable living here doing it
