I used Uber all around San Fran and it is incredible. I would say a minimum of 5x better than riding in a cab. Soon enough UberX will come to New Orleans and it will be a game changer. The amount of drivers will sky rocket and cabbies will feel the wrath. The corrupt politicians and unions can only keep them out for so long.

I wouldn't count on it happening any time soon. Are you from Nola and how old are you? BTW, I wish it would happen.
