I agree. The judges did not.
Add that up and you get a score of 22/50. I believe that would be a failing saison grade. It was a damn good saison, imo, just not in style guidelines.
I got the score sheet and just laughed. Of course it was infected. My whole house was one giant brett colony at the time. I've since taken some steps to avoid cross contamination, but it really doesn't bother me if brett finds its way into something. Just means I have to age it longer.

Aroma (as appropriate for style) Comment on malt, hops, esters and other aromatics: 4 / 12
Entry 11 "Farmhouse & horse blanket and sourness. No fruit aromas. No spicyness. No hops, No dms, no diacetyl. / Big farmhouse character with some sour skittles as well. Overpowerss soft pils malt as well. Belgain esters possibly infected."
Appearance (as appropriate for style) Comment on color, clarity, and head (retention, color, and texture): 2 / 3
"gold, cloudy with chunks in the bottom of the glass. Off white fish eyes head that persists. Some lacing on the side of the glass. / Gold with some haze. Big rocky off white head. Some turbidity. "
Flavor (as appropriate for style) Comment on malt, hops, fermentation characteristics, balance, finish/aftertaste, and other flavor characteristics: 8 / 20
"Initial taste is chlorophenolic and sour. Slight taste of malt sweetness. NO citrus or spicy flavors. Beer tastes infected. The balance is on the bitter side and finishes dry. / Soft pils malt. Some noble hop character. Ome fruityness. Well balanced. Farmhouse character flows through. Some acidity. "
Mouthfeel (as appropriate for style) Comment on body, carbonation, warmth, creaminess, astringency, and other palate sensations: 4 / 5
"Medium light body. Medium low carbonation. No warmth. Slightly creamy. Low levels of astringency. / Low-medium body. High carbonation that is appropriate for style. No warming character. Tartness is at a high level, but close to style. "
Overall Impression (as appropriate for style) Comment on overall drinking pleasure associated with entry, give suggestions for improvement: 4 / 10
"The farmhouse aroma is wonderful, but too much for the style. Needs to have supporting fruityness and spicyness. Practice good sanitation procedure to limit infections. / Likely infected. Big farmhouse brett character still was refreshing though. Review sanitation process. "
