Depends on a lot of things.
I have 40+ aged friends who aren't losers/immature and we get along fine.
I seem to get along fine with most people on this message board.
I will agree that the younger you date, regardless of maturity, you increase the chances of that person growing up and growing far away from you. She may be a carefree drama-less chick. But if she's really young, there's a good chance she discovers new people/things and leaves you.

Exactly why you have to wait for those life altering moments/phases to take place. Would be pointless to engage in a relationship with someone who in several years sees everything in a completely different light.

granted there are exceptions. But one's perspective changes so much from 20s to 40s, I can't see how it would be easy to communicate with each other. I'd imagine both parties could handle it in the short term, but long term would be daunting.
Honestly, could you see yourself dating a guy in his 40s? Even your shared love of epicurean adventures would be strained with some guy twice your age!
