If you recall, Ted Cruz also led the effort to shut down the government last year. In that instance and in this one, there was no winning play for the GOP...it was only to raise his profile at the expense of the American taxpayer. He raised $1.3 million during the shutdown quarter. What a patriot!

I don't hate Sarah Palin or Dick Cheney, but I hate Ted Cruz.

Palin and Cheney have no power - you hate Cruz because he exposes the absolute idiocy and mendacity of the DEM party.

No offense, a want, but given that your political bent is just that....bent....I'm not exactly inclined to revisit my opinion of Ted Cruz just because you despise him.

When Cruz led the fight to defund Obamacare, it did result in a government shutdown. So what? People like you make it sound like that was the political equivalent of 9/11 or something. It wasn't.

Meanwhile, the employer mandate is FINALLY scheduled to kick in next month, right? Gosh, I wonder why Obama has kept deferring and postponing this component of Obamacare? I guess we'll find out soon enough.

I think history will show, and has already shown us to an extent, that Ted Cruz was correct to be leading the charge against this monstrosity.

Meanwhile, I'm secure in knowing that any politician who draws the contempt of "a want" must be doing a lot of things right.

Did you criticize Elizabeth Warren for attempting to shut down the government with her opposition to the continuing resolution?

Cruz is going to have a real problem with McConnell, and this has Mitch McConnell written all over it.

Paul's unbridled support of McConnell in the recent KY Senate race will come to fruition this year. Paul and Cruz will be vying for the same voter base if they decide to run. McConnell will be behind the scenes pulling strings for Paul, and ripping the rug out from under Cruz. Tough sledding for Ted.
