Figured it out. Simple fix. I had my tools executing in the background, allowing me to continue working while anything was processing. Apparently too much stuff going on can throw it off. I enabled it to operate in the foreground (making me wait to do anything until it finished processing) and it worked.

I know sometimes when I am exporting a large file to CAD, mine will completely shut down, or even bringing in large orthos. So, the idea of a lot going in the background makes perfect sense.

My old rule for ArcMap was to let it do it's thing and not touch it. I used to have to save big jobs for closing time. I'd have half a dozen computer running overnight operations. Arc is a CPU hog.
