Nebraska and its not close they are a different level of program.

Given Nebraska's recruiting disadvantage, in addition to an extemely questionable hire in Mike Riley, and they will have some clear obstacles moving forward. Proclaiming it isn't close just doesn't seem obvious or even that reasonable.

Facilities: Nebraska. Memorial Stadium is very impressive. They also have top notch weight facilities.

I'm biased so I'm not going to argue which program will be back first..

But this is wrong.

Miami doesn't belong in this discussion

And for those who think Tenn doesn't have equal/better facilities than Nebraska you are a moron, tenn facilities are on par with the best in America

The "recruiting disadvantage" is nothing new yet Nebraska is still one of the elite of the elite programs all time. And again people who just started watching football think they became good in the 80's and 90's. Nebraska's been a powerhouse since the 20's.

Historically Nebraska is in the top tier program(along with USC Michigan OSU ND Bama and OU). Tennessee is not that.

We re 9th or 10th according to most rankings, idk if that's "top tier" but it's good enough for me

We are certainly equal with fricking Michigan

Tennessee is equal with Penn St and belongs at 9/10. but they aren't close to the elite group

do you really think Da U wouldn't have the easiest time turning this around? They have the hottest recruiting grounds to work with. They play in a shitty conference so a good coach could have them rolling pretty fast.

Nebraska is an awesome state. Yea its kinda flat and boring to some, but the people here are the nicest in America.

I see we play South Alabama on 9/12/15 here in Lincoln.

The tornadoes and severe weather can get bad though. earlier this year Pilger, NE had twin tondos decimate the community.

I might come see the area. I hear good things.

Tornadoes like that, though? Yikes. Yikes. Yikes. Yikes.

the odds of having one hit your area though are pretty low. the worst of it here is from late April through late June. after that the chances go down. and most buildings have shelters and every town had sirens that are tested weekly.

Miami could be elite again with a quickness.

Right now Miami is mediocre and trying to be well behaved.

If they said frick it and made it rain on just one or two recruitingclasses in south Florida only and Dade county specifically, they could be elite and be competing for a title almost immediately.

The coaching is good enough, the talent in their back yard is the best in the country by a good bit. All it would take is Miami saying frick the rules for a year or two and buying the recruits and it would be on in no time.

And as for the fan base, everyone loves a winner. Miami is a small expensive smart person private school but the community of south florida would come out in droves if the U was good again.

Miami has the history and talent close by. The school itself seems to be its own worst enemy. they dont seem to really emphasise football

It's only going to take one really good year for "the state of miami" to be reestablished.

These kids don't give a shite how many people are in the stands, but if Miami starts signing studs and winning then the fans will show up. Miami easily has the most potential for a quick and powerful ascent. Dade county houses the best talent in the country. The "state of Miami" houses the best talent in the country by a wide fricking margin. One good year and kids will be lining up to play at Miami. That swagger never left, it's just been dormant. It won't take a whole lot to wake it up.
