Have anyone's trades slowed to a crawl through the app? My buys used to go through instantaneously but it's gotten to the point where it takes forever for a trade to go through. Kind of removes a lot of the luster of the app for me if it essentially prohibits the quick buying and selling of stocks.

I haven't noticed this. Have you paid attention to your fill spreads? Are they getting wider?
I figured they would start doing this more noticeably to take $$ off the top.

When I'm trading stuff that's volatile, yeah. The allure for me was to be able to fiddle with volatility and goof off with attempting to time the market.
I don't want robinhood for a buy & hold, but that's what it's turning into given execution times.
I sent an email to see if there's a tangible explanation.

The whole fee-less day trading thing is kinda of a double edged sword.
I personally wouldn't trust the bandwidth of Robin Hood, let alone their fill rates for doing anything significant or an attempt at high speed.
I feel like there's probably some algo/russian sitting at a desk somewhere picking off everyone's trades making a killing.

I just have a tiny amount in the account so it's no big deal if I get ripped off. I thought it was worth a shot.
Just aggravating when you buy $100 worth of something at 8:35 this morning & it goes up 20%+ after you submit your buy but the buy still hasn't gone through.

shite, what are you buying?
And what platform are you using? Iphone on Wi-Fi?
I haven't had any problems like that so far, try restarting your phone or something, if you haven't already.

I only do limit buys on Robinhood, even if my limit is the same as the current market price.
I haven't had any issues with lag in purchases, but I did notice that the "market" prices aren't always up-to-date (so I put in my buy at the price listed on a real-time source, not what Robinhood is showing as Market).

theres a lag time on robinhood in the morning. you cant actually buy anything until about 8:40-8:45 (CST). After that, orders go through instantly.
I don't know why this happens, but it does.

I keep getting pushed back in line. I understand people move up for sharing, but I've tried sharing multiple times and I'm getting no where.

Exact same everything for me, word for word.
I like playing around with this app. I'm doing pretty well so far. After 9 days I'm averaging a 2.4% gain per day just by trying to time the market like someone else mentioned.

I feel like it was one day at most.

The review was only a day or two ,but then you need to verify your bank account which takes a few days, and then you need to transfer funds into the account which takes a few days.
Going back to my emails to see the timeline...
Feb 12 - Submitted my application
Feb 13 - Accepted
Feb 13 - Added bank account
Feb 19 - Confirmed bank account
Feb 19 - Initiated fund transfer from bank account
Feb 23 - Funds cleared and I was able to trade

How do you use an invite if you already have an account and are waiting in line? When I click an invite link it takes me to a get started page.
Posted on 3/5/15 at 6:37 pm to DukeSilver
I just used the same information I used while I was waiting in line.

I do that and it says my username is already in use?
