Recruiting Rankings and National Championships

I read somewhere that all National Champions since rankings came out had more blue chip players than not. Oregon currently sits at 41% of the roster and I gotta think they are the only one of the 4 that would go against the trend. So, Oregon could buck the trend.
This brings me to my point. With the proliferation of technology that makes recruiting so much more easy, will getting a top 10 class be as important? Diamonds in the rough are everywhere but how hidden do they remain with every high schooler throwing up video on Hudl and 5 high school games a week on TV? The exposure is at a all time high.
At the end of the day, there is always going to be a correlation with raw talent. However, Blue Chip talent has always been the top 300 or so kids in a class. With the exposure, you got to think that the difference between kid 300 and 500 starts to blur.

The problem is that Oregon previously hasn't fared well against those teams that routinely rack up top 10 classes. See: Ohio State, Auburn, and LSU. That's why I think an Oregon-Bama NCG would be so fascinating.

iirc Tennessee has better recruiting past 5 years than Oregon.

Well a shitty coach nullifies good recruiting, Seena.

I don't care how it's done but I really desire the ducks to pull it out this year.. As far as recruiting, Oregon has done a fantastic job of recruiting skill that's fits their system. The lack of blue chips seems to mainly be on defense because of a lack of size and speed up front. You guys seem to build many of the guys up front through the program over a players cAreer with the occasionally edge guy.. This lack of overall quality has more to do with a regional lack of prototypical combo of size and speed.

rocket or somebody always pounds that elite teams almost always have elite recruiting. The Oregons and Michigan States, as Dan Wetzel calls them "college football's middle class" seem to threaten the status quo, but never quite get over the hump. Mark Dantonio can find and develop two star LeVeon Bell and run a great defense, but over the long haul, he is not going to compete with Ohio State.

Hell, that K State team Oregon smoked in the Fiesta a couple years back likely had inferior recruiting classes to Oregon over the previous few years. There was definitely a noticeable talent difference in that game.

Our starting defensive line this were all top 300 in 2011 and high school all americans. The starting offensive line outside of Gasu, who is like 3x 1st team all Pac, were all "blue chip" by one of the sites.
That's the difference between 2011 and now.

I think an interesting stat is every #1 class for the last 10 years or so(I don't know the exact number) has won a National Championship.
Oregon has enough talent to win IMO. What sets the champs apart is they get the top players in the trenches. Just look at Alabama's offensive and defensive line classes. Their offensive line hauls are absolutely insane. Oregon has to use other methods to combat this, but they do a fairly decent job of it.
We'll see. Oregon has been impressive this year.

I've never seen one of our OL with a highlight reel like this. Hopefully we start trending up. I just laugh my arse off watching it. The dude is just a dick.

Good lord
Call me what you want, but 3 licks from that dude and I'm faking an injury and sitting my arse on the bench. Hell, might not even have to fake the injury.
Fluker did that shite. Guys like that in HS just aren't fair.
