I wanted to play Texas because my dad went there. We could have gone together and it would have been a blast.

I don't see how playing ND would help us nationally more than UT. You know UT is a huge national fan base, right? Probably no smaller than ND, at least not significantly.

We stomped ND less than a decade ago, I want to play Texas.

We do have a stronghold in Texas recruiting, we need to hold it. Strong is there now, they are looking to turn that program around, we can't afford to start losing recruits to them from Texas.
