Why do people think they do? It's not like Ohio State played an extra conference game than TCU or Baylor. They already played 9 conference games. OSU was just catching up.

It doesn't matter, they are risking an extra loss. A risk that TCU and Baylor are not taking.

The conference championship game only exists for one reason, money. Now that conferences have expanded they also serve a legit purpose but the Big 12 doesn't need one because they already play everyone and it's already been settled on the field.

Wrong.
If the BIG 12 had a championship game in 2011, Oklahoma State would have been in the NC instead of Bama.
They made it for money, but now more than ever, it adds value to your resume.

Derp. What value did FSU get by beating GT? Going 12-0 was just as good as 13-0.

Baylor going 12-0 = playoffs
TCU going 12-0 = playoffs

Championship game =meaningless

DONT LOSE = youre in

The extra game is Ohio State playing Kent State, they aren't risking anything.

Oklahoma State was beating Oklahoma 44-10 on conference championship Saturday while bama was sitting at home watching on TV. The media had already made up their mind about who was playing LSU.
