Honestly, most of the time I think the close calls are just that. Close. Now and then, the calls are obviously absurd and the reason seems to haunt a lot of us.

PP both feet inbounds pops right not my mind.

Yeah thats the one that most people are hung up on.

It was however the correct call. Did PP catch the ball inbounds with control, absolutely. Did it matter, no.

Google the video, not just the famous still image. Jones touched the ball first, reaching across PP. Jones was out of bounds. Its a dead ball at that point.

Thats the rule. It'd be the same as throwing a pass out of bounds to avoid pressure, and the ball doinks off a player on the bench, comes back in bounds and is caught.

Sometimes its easy to take the cheap way out and blame losses on "crooked refs", but I really dont think thats ever the case. Do they make mistakes, sure. Do the mistakes always favor one team over another? It would be childish and petty to believe that.

Stranger things have happened with so much money at stake. a top tier program makes about 40-50 million more than a mid level program.

That being said, I do not think bribes are paid. There would be way too much damage if anyone was caught. It would be in the conferences best interest to put a stop to it though because it does look so bad.

Bama fans call it "Home cookin'" when the refs slant a game their way.
