So he failed at Michigan because of the academic standards? Legit question. I wanna know what Rich Rod supporters say about why he did so poorly at his only big time job.

Better QB play is vital for LSU regardless who is coaching them.

I didn't say that. I'm saying that he recruited well enough for Michigan. His recruiting classes were in the top 15 in his tenure at Michigan. And, I'm pretty sure a good number of those players either left the team or never made it to campus. I'm not putting that on the university entirely. Remember, there was controversy surrounding how he treated players. Overworking them, verbally abusing them, etc.

The NCAA violations made it easy to part with Rich Rod, I think. And, he just didn't win. Still, he barely got, what, 3 seasons? He was trying to implement not just a completely different scheme, but a different culture of players at Michigan. It just wasn't meant to be, I think. I'm not saying he could come to LSU and win titles, but it would be interesting to see what he could do with an offense at LSU considering the talent he would have access to.
