Riff heavy classic rock/metal is alive and well, you just have to find it.
Europe is in a big time renaissance of that style music right now.

I know some on this board don't like them from their live shows but the new Umphrey's McGee album, Similar Skin, is a great new rock album. These guys really focused on making a great TRUE rock and roll album. Some great heavy riffs and some good soloing as well.

Their live show goes in a lot of different directions with electronic, jazzy, metal, folky improvisation involved but this new album is 100% rock and roll.

Check out Cut the Cable, Hourglass, Little Gift (featured on NBC Sunday Night Football) and for something more upbeat try No Diablo or Educated Guess.

I understand some of you may not like it, but hopefully some of you can head-bob to this.

Its out there and this board has turned me on to some really good stuff.
Europe, especially Germany and the Scandinavian countries, has always gone hard.
