The exposure that schools get from a D-1 football program is priceless.

What exposure does UAB's football program bring the university besides a culture and reputation of failure? The best way for lesser known directional schools to gain national notoriety is through basketball and making the NCAA tournament on a consistent basis.

I guess that's why similar schools like Charlotte and UTSA started football to get into CUSA.

Ummm... it still gets the name of the school out there. How often is UAB going to be on TV without football? I watched two UAB C-USA games on local TV in Indianapolis this year. That's reaching a lot of people that would have never thought about UAB otherwise.
