i think it definitely effected the 4 years after that.

Then Mett wasn't that bad, and this new mess is Les's fault.

I disagree somewhat. Ryan would have been a Jr that year with the potential to declare after the 08 season. We still might have been in the bad position even if he stayed one more year. Now one could argue that by not having to throw Lee to the wolves so early might have helped his future development. It was an unfortunate situation. Seems like we are always dealing with QB issues outside of the 2013 season.
