Well, I'm currently looking at this one: LINK

But I read that the input lag is about 100ms for gaming. I just can't decide what to get. I see someone posted about 4k, but I read that they weren't worth it for 50" sizes. I also don't care about it being a smart or 3D TV.

I would look into this one but the 55 inch. It looks to be a good deal with good reviews.

Anyone who says that is over-generalizing. VIEW DISTANCE is the key. That said, it's likely that in a typical living room setup, you'd be sitting too far back to actually see the difference between 1080p and 2160P on a 50" TV. About 5-6 feet is the farthest back you'd want to sit from it, and about 3 feet would be the closest. That CarltonBale chart gets posted a lot here, and I'm basing it on that chart plus others that are generally of the same mindset.

They all of course assume 20/20 vision, so if you have better vision (e.g., 20/15), you'd see a benefit slightly farther away.

If your view distance, at minimum, allows for a coffee table and some walking room between you and the TV, a 50" is probably a little too small. In my living room, the farthest view is 10' away, and the shortest is about 6', which means I'd ideally want a fricking gigantic 70-80" 4K TV, or a more modest 50" 1080P (which I have).
