And credit card companies? Like making bank off of their policies? Trashy or nah?

Posted on 11/26/14 at 7:13 pm to meauxjeaux2
You're the king of trashy regardless of your question.

Examples?
I think calling DirecTV saying you are going to drop them when you have no intention of doing so is a bumb thing to do.
I have been with them forever and if I have an issue they fix it and have given me shite for free without having to play that game.

Like what? Getting deals using Amex or buying something with an amex and claiming a fraudulent charge?

I have DTV as well and would never try to do that simply because I know they'd call my bluff. Now using a discover card to purchase 3 tvs that are doorbuster items for black Friday with a Discover card and having them send you checks in the mail for the difference. .......

Discover's price protection works on Black Friday deals
Posted on 11/26/14 at 7:22 pm to wizziko
Yep. Have 3 Panasonic 50" tvs sitting in my bedroom right now. Why in the hell would you deal with that Black Friday shite when there's Discover card?
Posted on 11/26/14 at 7:22 pm to wizziko
OK so I don't see how that's taking advantage of Discover. Seems like a loophole in their policy.

Yes it is but I still ft guilty walking out of Best buy with 3 50" tvs knowing all of those people will be fighting over them tomorrow night.

Best Buy deal?
You do know that a lot of the Black Friday door buster TV deals are TVs that places like Best Buy order just for BF. They not only are made with cheap and recycled parts but often time they have a different model number. In other words, that model number may make it hard for you to get the check if Discover actually looks at that.

Naa the SKU is the same as the TV regularly being sold in stores
Posted on 11/26/14 at 7:28 pm to stout
I verified the model number before buying. I'm good. Now the UHD Samsung tv they have is not available for pre buy.
I have a friend that is manager at BB and hooked me up.

The particular model that Best Buy is offering -- the 50A400 -- scored a modest 6 out 10 on AVForums: "We have seen a number of excellent TVs from Panasonic this year but sadly [this] is not one of them. In fact, it's one of the worst TVs we have reviewed so far, failing on almost every level to deliver the kind of performance ... we would expect from even a budget TV."
