I believe that to be another common and perpetuated myth. I knew of quite a few successful black entreprenuers and professionals when I was a kid, during the civil rights heyday, in Louisiana, there was definitely racism, but all doors were not closed to those that were basically willing to pull themselves up from the bootstraps and play the hand that they were dealt

This board is full of tongue in cheek rationalizations/justifications of segregation and systematic oppression.
