I wish I could give this black police officer a handshake.

quote:

In a fascinating exchange, a group of protestors confront a black police officer and tell him he is being oppressed by his colleagues. He argues patiently with them, telling them color does not matter. They disagree, and tell him his race matters above all.

"You're a black man. You will never reach the heights of a white officer." "You're just like me. You're a black man. And when you take off your uniform, they will treat you as such....You are black. You will always be black. Never forget your own." They applaud.

It's funny because it's absolutely false but they believe it.

Like no black man is supposed to be a cop, right?

Is that what these people want? An all white police force?

I am always fascinated by the working lower to middle class black vs the do nothing welfare state black dynamic in this country.

How hard must it be to get up and try and be a functioning member of society in some of the lower income neighborhoods, say someone working the night shift at a gas station vs your neighbor on 60 kinds of government assistance who does nothing but sit on their arse and complain

Complain about inequality in police employment.

Tear down black man employed by police.

There's truly nothing that will make these people happy.

When this all started, the ferguson police chief said he tried to get more black officers. The good ones moved on to better opportunities and the bad ones were either fired or quit. Said he couldnt get a majority black police force if that was his #1 priority.

.....eliciting fear and hatred, and aggravate racial tensions for a political cause.

This is basically why civil rights leaders are sellouts in a nutshell. They are political pawns first, black men second.

They can't accomplish the goals of their leadership in DC without making racial tensions worse. This kind of shite needs to be exposed and condemned.

40 years before that, his grandfather was told the following:

"You're a black man. You'll never be a police officer. Black folk don't get to be officers"

Why won't they realize the change that has taken place and embrace it. They could get somewhere in the world if they did.

This is classic "crabs in a bucket" mentality in action. This is what Al Sharpton and this unnamed speaker in the above quote sound like to my ears. This is what those Black critics of people like this Black policeman, Ben Carson and Condi Rice sound like to me. Crabs in a bucket, dragging down all those who refuse to stay in their "bucket" of despair and instead, climb out and make something of themselves.

And this is what the KKK is preaching to whites. So what's your point.

Charles Barkely is right. The biggest problem faced by black people in this country is other black people.
