Issue is you save 1.25mil by cutting him, down a punter, and you need to then spend 420k on another punter that is rather unknown. You'd save only 800k, but sacrificing a solid punter for an unknown. There are better ways to make 800k. Next year is the better time to do it, not this.

Are you sure about this?
Only the top 51 players count against the cap and we'll have several at $420k that don't count.
So we'd save $1.25 million by cutting him this year
