The slide was probably out of battery. The procedure for a failure to fire is to slap magazine, rack the pistol and fire. Some teach to observe the slide and slap forward to put it back into battery. I prefer a very expedient slap rack and squeeze because its repeatable and doesnt require any real analysis.
This guy is pretty fortunate that he eventually went through his immediate action procedures, but immediate action is not ssomething a gun owner should ever hesitate to do.
pistol slides out of battery is a common malfunction, especially after a scuffle or if a person has been crawling around or bumping against stuff. This really doesnt reflect poorly on the sig at all, as many of the more popular firearms can suffer from the same malfunction for a variety of reasons. Ive necer never been a sig fan, but not for this reason.
Bottom line is that Brown hasn't put in enough reps on immediate action, which is something that can be rehearsed dry in your living room in front of the tv.
