This scene is not replaceable:

Die Hard is a Christmas movie. It's the reason he's there, it's a theme between him and Carl Winslow, it's a theme of the movie and it is not interchangeable.

The whole point of the "Christmas party" is that is where Bruce plans to reconcile with his ex-wife. Does that make the film a romance? No! The party could have been a Thanksgiving party, a birthday party, a New Years Eve party....he kills bad guys who want to kill people and blow stuff up, not steal Christmas trees and Cindy Lou's Christmas feast!

Sorry, Die Hard IS NOT a Christmas movie.

Amen Breesus. It's a central theme to the film. Die Hard is the GOAT Christmas film. OP, stop being a try hard film analyst and just enjoy it.
