Nope.

Again, this is something that has gone on since the 50s

It has nothing to do with being associated with schools like SHSU or Montana and everything to do with school work taking precedence over sports.

Bull...it's trying to say you are above that - ergo, elitism.

Notre Dame pulled the same crap - Notre Dame refused bowl bids from 1925-1970 until Ara threw a hissy-fit. Finally Notre Dame relented, releasing they couldn't win the national title (per usual) with just their regular season record.

There has always been an academic snobbery to post-season...like it's undignified for gentlemen.

And the AP still awarded ND 5 titles during that span.

lol no

The entire point of going to a university is to further your education. Sports are an extra curricular at Ivy League schools just like many others around the nation. You don't go to an Ivy if you are serious about playing sports and they all know that going in. Just b/c they have a different educational mission doesn't mean it's elitist.

so being the best academic institutions in the land is elitism? man, they value sports yet place them in what THEY consider the proper prospective. it is a free country. and now you call them elitist. I hope you don't break their heart.

here's guessing you never graduated from college. college football is currently the minor leagues for the nfl. most top schools allow players that basically can't read and write. so we have some schools that actually field amateur sports teams and you call them snobs. i'm sure as their graduates are running corporations and making huge bucks while you call them names is going to make them change their ways.
