Apparently you just solder two leads to the reed switch and it triggers with continuity. I'm going to sacrifice one of my sensors to give it a go.

Somehow I've found myself with more sensors than places to use them. I'm starting to get creative now.
I'm a fan of zwave based vs quirkys ZigBee since zwave is a generic mesh and ZigBee seems to be manufacturer specific
