Agreed, but the problem is how they are being developed.

Right now, LSU is suffering because Les obviously wants to win as many games as possible (which is fine), but it may be coming at the expense of long-term success.

As my old high school football coach used to say "this is not a football team. This is a football program."

My favorite example: Matt Stafford in 2006.

Season stats: 52.7% completions. 7 TDs. 13 INTs.

That's the kind of stats that make would make some Les Miles apologists say "hmmm...UGA didn't have an SEC-caliber QB that year."

Yeah, but they let Stafford take his lumps and let him throw interceptions. That's how players develop and learn. Throwing against the scout team defense in practice isn't exactly comparable.

The tough part is that I don't think Miles knows what his long-term QB situation is, and with the way Jennings is playing right now, that's not a good sign.

If Harris is the QB of the future, he needs to be playing now, and being allowed to make mistakes.

he could not effectively operate the offense against Auburn. Maybe he will get another try against aTm.

Let's see what happens.

ETA: I do think it would have been nice to give him some series in the 2nd half against Arky. Perhaps their safeties would have backed off.
