There are a number of illegals living and working within the united states. Many of them have children that were born here or born to a U.S. citizen. Thus, while the parent(s) are illegal, the child is not. Or, at a minimum, the child was granted status to be a legal resident and not face deportation

The president proposes to issue an Executive Order that grants those parents relief from the expectation of deportation, PROVIDED:

1) they have not committed (other) illegal acts

2) They agree to file papers to received work privileges, and pay taxes, etc.

the rumors have specifically excluded any right to getting citizenship. Only that they can "come out of the shadows" and remain employed in the U.S and with their children

The PROBLEM is that there is very real concerns that this is outside of the powers that the POTUS has been given constitutionally. It is suggested that this is an illegal usurpation of the Congress' power and responsibility. In fact, President Obama said exactly that in an interview last year.

thus, the controversy.

He only said it 25 times so he didn't really mean it.

here's what I'm wondering: has our enlightened gov't, which is so good at projections, projected what percentage of eligible illegals will "come out of the shadows"?

Maybe a lot won't. I know the threat of deportation keeps many from sticking their necks out too far, but this is not going to be a permanent act (in political terms it may be, though).

Once these people are "out of the shadows" and working on the books, then we will be told it is unfair that these millions of people are paying taxes but not allowed to have a say in the electoral process.

.....and there are your millions and millions of voters created from scratch voting 70%-80% Dem.

That's the plan.

Okay, I can live with that. Parents get reverse grandfathered in ( ) for the sake of their kids.

I find the no benefits claim hard to believe though.....

But all this means that it is a back door blanket amnesty if a major lockdown isn't even attempted, and a crackdown domestically.
