I had almost forgot who Billy Gilman was. Shocker, that he would come out now, when I'm sure millions of others had forgotten him as well.

TBH, a lot of those mid-late 90s artists run together in my mind: Ty Herndon, Ty England, Wade Hayes, etc. so I could be wrong.
I don't think either of these announcements will have much of an impact in the country music world. It will take a big name to really make anyone do more than give it a sideways glance. The only reason anyone really paid attention a few years ago when Chelly Wright came out was because she had been in relationships with other well known artists - Brad Paisley and Vince Gill among others.
