I'll throw my opinions out there, in no particular order.

1) Failing public education in many states.
2) Ineffective law enforcement as a means of deterring crime.
3) An even more ineffective justice system.
4) Violence worshipped as a culture.
5) Out of control illegal drug epidemics in many areas.
6) The average American income is high but there is still a large amount of poverty in the country which fosters criminal activity.
7) Dramatic decline in two parent families.
8) Entitlements often perpetuate the lower class.

Why were Mexico and Estonia excluded in the chart? Not that it changes the question but just curious.

Idk why Estonia was left out but I'm sure the graph would have been skewed to meaninglessness if Mexico were included. Every other line would be crunched down into an unreadable blob at the bottom including the US

Yep. And the fact that our society tolerates violence, as long as it remains (mostly) in the lower economic classes (I.e., the gang culture).

And as well, a Constitution which defends Individual rights and casts the burden of criminal conviction on the prosecution. Throw in the apologetic, Progressive Ideological affect, and most hard criminals just walk.

Whatever we tolerate, we get more of.
