It's human nature to become complacent when no one is holding you accountable, especially if you have a guaranteed contract. Win or lose, Les will still get his 4.3-4.5 million, and his assistants will get their salaries as well. In essence, the university is held hostage by Les' contract and buyout. To make matters worse, he can up and leave whenever he wants, leaving LSU high and dry.

We all know Les is not going anywhere for awhile. Don't know if this legal or not, but why not see if it is possible for the LSU Board of Supervisors to restructure the FB coaches' salaries on an incentive basis. Whatever their base salaries are, they get one twelfth of their salaries for a win, and nothing for a loss. Keep the present post season incentives in place. This is certainly a way to make sure the coaches are doing their best in recruiting, player development, and game planning. If you don't have confidence in your coaching abilities, don't take the job or resign from your present job. Besides any saved monies could be used for potential buyouts.

Sounds far fetched and next to possible to implement, but most corporate executive and all pro athlete contracts are production based. Perform or you won't last long. Just tired of LSU paying tons of money for coaches who may not be performing to the best of their abilities. We'll certainly never get the truth from Les, Alleva, or the media.

I think next year Les will have to start coaching with the fear that his job could be at stake in the near future.

That's a good thing. Don't want any obstacles to his departure

No they aren't. Athletes are pushed to perform generally by their own will for greatness, or their next contract. But they generally don't tie most or all of their salary to any performance based standard. Drew Brees gets most of his money whether he has a winning or losing season.

Miles is a joke and grossly overpaid. Just about everyone else who makes a good living has to earn it. Les has not earned his pay. Nor has Cam Cameron who is also a joke. One tricking 2 loss national championship does not make you the elite. Especially when your teams possess top tier talent each year. I'm done with that clown.
