Destiny had a full on alpha and an enormous beta to make sure things were stable when it launched and the game still some hiccups.

Not really, Destiny worked fine opening night and the servers were never down, on PS4 at least. Can't say about others.

But that's what a $500 million dollar budget and a great Alpha and Beta helps with.

CoD AW had some lag here and there but servers never crashed and you could play. Again, another massive title with tons of money albeit no alpha or beta.

Money/budget has as much to do with it as anything IMO.

It's just too bad that they couldn't help make it a good game.

Our first raid attempt almost 3-4 weeks in kept getting derailed because different connection issues. The game had hiccups.

BF4 was a broken mess for almost a month or more. You are basically warned to not create a career during the first 2 weeks after the release of a new NBA2K game because there is a good chance your character will get deleted.

GTA Online was probably the worst.
