Sorry to hear this. I know the Rant says cats are for pussies, but my gf and I had one for 16 years. She had cancer and had to have some fluid drained. That helped her breathe, but she eventually just couldn't go anymore and died in our front yard. We were there with her. I hadn't cried that much since my mom died in 2008. I have some best friends that I have that I haven't been around for 16 years, so it was hard to let her go. I could go on and on about stories with her, but we couldn't bring ourselves to put her down.

It will get better over time, but it still hurts more than a year later.
