As a freshman in 1983 I rented a townhouse at Gardere and GRSI. It was a brand new town house and a very WASP area/environment. I went back in 2008 to see the old place and thought I might get killed. It felt worse than South Chicago and the 9th ward back in the day. I was shocked at how fast it declined.

They annexed L'Auberge, but not the surrounding neighborhood. What about Scotlandville? Why hasn't Baton Rouge annexed this gem of tranquility.
