So was Saban... He had a 58.5% winning percentage at Mich St. And was not a well known guy across the country. Hell, not everybody thought it was a good hire when it happened.
The point is that there are really good coaches out there that arent big name guys right now. They are coordinators, assistants, position coaches, young guys, etc. We dont know who they are, but it doesnt mean they arent good coaches. They are just waiting for the opportunity to be a head coach.
Fact: Nobody here knows who the next best college football coach is gonna be. But hes out there.

I agree but the odds are most wont be very good. Its a crap shoot.

Saban was well respected as the next up and comer. It's the reason LSU signed him to the 3rd highest CFB HC salary at the time without setting foot on campus.

I think he had already declined the New York Giants and Indianapolis Colts while at Michigan State.
