Not necessarily true. In my league there is a high point weekly award of $25 and the team that finishes last has to buy the keg for the draft party. I almost think you have to put things like this in place to eliminate shady biz

this is what we've always done... however, this year we trimmed the playoff teams from 8 to 6 (12 team) and in an effort to keep everyone interested till the end, we added that the winner of the consolation bracket would get their entry fee back ($100). So with this addition, I feel I have to allow teams that are eliminated from playoffs to trade until deadline. I did move the trade deadline up though in hopes to eliminate any BS.
Our trade deadline is today and playoffs weeks 13-15 (we do this to lessen the chance someone gets screwed by star players getting benched due to having playoff spot locked up)
