re: Uh oh...looks like the wrong Republican is now pissed off. Gowdy on Gruber

Gowdy is the man. Who ever the Presidential Rep nominee is...they should be up front in appointing Gowdy as AG. He'd put the fear of true accountability in the dirty folk who inhabit the bureaucracies, and clean this place up; at least to the degree that is possible.
It all starts at the top. Rot from the core is unseen...until it spreads to the outside and the stink manifests. Costly.

It's a politically thankless, controversial, no-win, dead-end job and the last thing that would appeal to Gowdy.
Heaven forbid anything happening to Barry or Uncle Joe, but the thought of Gowdy moving into 1600 Pennsylvania gives me a warm fuzzy.

This thread put a smile on my face
Edit - I wish Me. Gowdy would call ABC, NBC, and CBS and inform them of this story. Apparently, they don't know about it.

What a wonderful thought to end my posting day on. Thanks Arlo

Gowdy needs to replace Boehner as speaker of the House!
Need to get Boehner and McConnell both out, we need new blood, fresh leadership if this country is going to recover from this decade long funk.

If science ever figures that shite out, i'll have Gowdy's baby

Gowdy has no interest at all in that job. Boehner is running unopposed for the Speaker position this time around. It's a politically thankless, controversial, no-win, dead-end job and the last thing that would appeal to Gowdy.
All this might be true, but I bet lots of real Conservatives would feel more confident in the Repubicans agenda moving forward with him at the helm.

Gonna be AG in a Paul administration.

Gowdy needs to be the President.

His greatest attribute is that he's not a typical politician. Being Speaker is a politics-heavy position and many outstanding congressmen of both parties have historically shown no interest for that very reason. The Speaker is invariably going to piss off many of his own people no matter who he is, as Gingrich quickly found out. Gowdy's focus and primary interest right now is on his chairmanship of the House Select Committee on Benghazi, a position he is heavily invested in and one he would have to give up if he were elected Speaker. Gowdy is tough and focused and would excel, as the other poster said, in a position like AG. A party leadership position would frustrate the crap out of him and in the end would turn him into just another politician having to deal with several disparate groups within his own caucus., as well as the democratic leadership. That would be an incredible waste of his talents.

you want to see how stupid the American citizens are

I just love how he calls BS on people when they answer a question with talking points that have nothing to do with his question.
This seems like a simple thing to do, but so often in hearings, I see people just rip off some talking points without a real response to a question and they never get called on it.
Gowdy will rip them up when they do that and I love him for it and he is hated by the Libs because he is good at it.

I was a little worried that a Gowdy thread would escape your notice.
Nice consistency, good sir.

Speaking of which - short thread hijack - did you see the thread where a white dude from St. Louis said he was going to be in black face when the GJ announcement was made - going "incognegro" for safety issues?
I immediately thought of your self-application of "Romneygro" from the 2012 election cycle.
Hate to say it, because of my affinity for "Romneygro", but "incognegro" may be funnier.

Gowdy as AG would be like Eric Cartman at a buffet.
