The above statement sounds like Joe Pa knew what was happening and forced Sandusky into retirement. Paterno didn't want to hang around Sandusky after learning about the abuse.
Ever been around a high school football program where the head coach knows everything going on at school because people in the town always let the head coach know? Joe Pa was at the small town State College for what, 50 years? I can promise you that there was nothing going on at that campus that he didn't know about.
