I just tip as well as I always do. Doesn't change just because it's Christmas.

Some of those people like the concierge and bouncers do me favors all year, like let service people in when I am not home and keep me from getting arrested or thrown out at the bar, and I don't tip them during the year so its nice to give them a little thank you. The cleaning lady, if you have one, is someone that knows as more about your dirty laundry than anyone that isn't family so you have to keep her happy. Tipping bartenders, waitresses, haircut girl and my towncar driver for xmas ALWAYS has me coming out ahead in the end because they will give me free drinks, will always serve me first, squeeze me in for an appointment etc.

I purely do it out of selfish reasons but they seem to enjoy it as well. I know Uncle Sam doesn't give you a lot of extra $ to pass about but if there is a service person you use a lot you should give them a little something and they will most likely more than pay you back over the next year.

Like I said, I just always consistently tip well, and I still get taken care of over the year by the same.

And, no, stingy ol' Uncle Sam doesn't give me much extra, of course I just budget for tips on the reg so it doesn't really feel like extra, and like I said, those around me seem to appreciate it.
